«Recycle me» is the call to customers of the new design of Colgate-Palmolive toothpaste tubes, which have begun to be released in the United States. The company has already completely and radically redesigned such toothpaste lines as Optic White Advanced, Cavity Protection, Max Fresh Cool and Total Whitening and is planning these changes for the remaining toothpastes by 2023.

Each of us at some time, at least once, patiently or not, waited, standing at the sink with a sponge in his hands, until the leftovers of dishwashing detergent flow down and fall onto the sponge. Or we try to put a bottle of detergent upside down on a small cap, trying to find a precarious balance for it.

On January 25, 2022, PepsiCo issued a very blunt statement. The company plans to completely get rid of the original raw materials in the packaging of its chips by 2030 and replace them with recycled plastics. First of all, this will affect the brands Walkers, Doritos and Lay's.

Very often, as a snack, we buy chocolate bars that contain everything needed for a quick energy boost. And very often it happens that, without finishing the bar, we don’t know what to do with it next: it’s kind of a pity to throw it away, but it is problematic to put in a bag, pocket, or even on the table, because the packaging has already been opened. And we reluctantly either eat up or throw away the product. Agree, the solution is not the best one.

The UN Environment Assembly is due to take place very soon, which is expected to bring together the political leaders of a large number of countries. And ahead of the event, more than 70 major businesses and financial institutions released a statement calling for a massive, comprehensive and legally binding treaty on plastic pollution. At the end of the last year, quite a lot of discussion was generated by the decision of France to ban plastic packaging for a large number of fruits and vegetables. Opponents of this decision base their arguments on the fact that already a huge amount of food ends up in a dump, and without protective packaging, lots of vegetables and fruits will hardly even appear on the shop’s shelves.

The largest manufacturer of cellulose products, the Swedish-Finnish company Stora Enso has recently presented its latest ecological development in the field of protective and thermal packaging to the world community. These are two types of wood-based foams that are completely recyclable or compostable.
