Worm (screw) conveyor

Worm (screw) conveyor is designed for transportation of loose, small lumpy and pasty cargo. The screw conveyor can be made in an open version - in a chute, and closed version - in a pipe. The use of open screw conveyors makes it possible to control its operation anywhere.

Screw conveyors are widely used in technological lines of a wide variety of industries: construction, processing, chemical and other food and non-food industries, in warehouses, in filling and packaging lines, etc.

The screw conveyor has the following design: a cylindrical body equipped at different ends with loading and unloading nozzles (windows). A screw is installed inside the body on bearing supports, which is a feeding element. Rotating, the screw captures the supplied product with its blades and moves it in the direction from the loading window to the unloading one. The screw conveyors are able to move material in vertical, inclined and horizontal directions. In order to distribute the transported product in different directions, the screw can be reversible, i.e. change the direction of rotation.

The main advantage of screws is their tightness, which makes their use the only possible solution when transporting dusty products. In addition to the above, they are compact, simple and reliable. The weak points of the screw conveyors include the fact that they are wear-prone, especially when transporting abrasive materials, as well as relatively high energy consumption.

The screw conveyor body is made of sections, usually 3-6 m long, connected by bolts. The length of the horizontal screw conveyor can be up to 40 m.

Depending on the task of the properties of the transported material, the screw can be made solid, blade, belt, as well as one or, two, three-start.

This equipment can be used independently, but its efficiency can be increased by using it as part of packaging lines (complexes).
