As global policies against plastic waste gain momentum, large companies are forced to look for a variety of solutions in packaging that uses plastic. At the same time, the use of recycled plastic in packaging now significantly exceeds the volume of its processing. There is a shortage of recycled plastic. This gives impetus to the development of other packaging options.

So, the Canadian representative office of Unilever - Dove Canada has already launched Dove deodorants in reusable packaging. It is a stainless steel container into which a replaceable unit with the deodorant itself is inserted. According to the manufacturer, the replacement unit is made of recycled plastic and after use is also subject to further processing. The reusable metal container comes with a "lifetime warranty". Each set contains one stylish and durable reusable deodorant container and one refill. And of course replacement blocks are sold separately.

In addition to reusable deodorant packaging, Dove has introduced a 100% recycled plastic bottle for many of its products. “We are studying every aspect of our packaging and working towards making all plastic packaging reusable, recyclable or compostable by 2025,” said Firdaus El Khonsali, Global Vice President of Communications and Sustainability at Unilever.
