Film for vacuum packaging of food products still remains a problem area for further processing. It must meet too many criteria. However, it is possible that a solution for this type of packaging will appear on the market very soon.

Three major companies, each an expert in their own field, the Niederwieser Group, Dow and Kuraray, teamed up to create a film that would, on the one hand, meet all the requirements for vacuumization, and on the other hand, comply with the PPWR, which we have already mentioned several times, and allow manufacturers to comply with the new legislation.

The new vacuum bag is called Combivac monoPE and the companies plan to present it at exhibitions in the near future. It will be a film with a high content of polyethylene (PE) adapted to existing equipment and fully suitable for recycling. All barrier properties will remain at their best and economic indicators will not suffer. It is also possible to reduce CO2 emissions, but additional tests are still being carried out in this direction.
