It is no secret that after small single-dose packages there is a very large amount of plastic waste. Due to the size, such packaging is more difficult to collect and dispose of, and the small size creates the illusion that this is not “critical” waste. But when a lot of small packages accumulate, this becomes a big problem.
Considering the speed of development of various types of packaging materials based on paper fiber, the solution to the problem of single-dose packaging was obvious. However, this does not diminish the achievement of the Italian company Valmatic, which was the first to develop it and introduce it to the market. We are talking about PAPERDOSE Multicolor paper capsules-ampoules.
Each of them is obtained by thermoforming the fiber and allows for up to 8 colors to be applied to the outer side. After use, they can be disposed of like regular paper. Such packaging can be from 1 to 50 ml in volume and used for liquids, gels, creamy products. That is, the scope of use is very wide: cosmetics, household chemicals, food products - everything that is often packaged for one-time use.
PAPERDOSE premiered on the packaging market at the Bologna Cosmetics Fair, which took place from 20 to 23 March 2025.
