The largest manufacturer of cellulose products, the Swedish-Finnish company Stora Enso has recently presented its latest ecological development in the field of protective and thermal packaging to the world community. These are two types of wood-based foams that are completely recyclable or compostable.

Stora Enso's offer consists of Fibrease ™ from Stora Enso and Papira® from Stora Enso. Both foams are versatile and environmentally friendly, and customers can select the appropriate foam based on their specific packaging requirements.

Fibrease is a soft yet resilient material with properties remining memory foam. It is highly insulating and is excellent for heat-wrapping applications such as online grocery and drug delivery. This foam has already been launched by the company for public sale.

Stora Enso's Papira® is a tough yet flexible foam that provides high impact protection and is an excellent plastic-free alternative to polymeric foams such as polyethylene (PE), polystyrene (EPS) and polyurethane (PU). Papira is designed to provide optimal protection for fragile and high-value consumer products such as electronics or industrial equipment. At the moment, this foam is just being launched by the company.

Both materials are bio-based and completely recyclable like paper or cardboard.
