Yes, you’ve read everything correctly. It's all about the development of the Swiss company Migros, which introduced CoffeeB or "Coffee Ball" to the market. This is a small ball of pressed coffee, which is covered only with the Delica protective layer, patented throughout the world.

This protective layer is not limited to just the coffee bead, but forms a barrier to prevent the aroma from fading away. Like coffee, this protective layer is of natural origin. As a result, we get a fully compostable coffee capsule.

The CoffeeB system is complemented by CoffeeB Globe coffee machines with patented brewing technology. By the way, they are also mostly made from recycled materials and are a modular design in which any element can be replaced, and the machine itself can be repaired. At the same time, the cost of CoffeeB is quite comparable with the cost of coffee machines and coffee from other manufacturing companies.

At the moment, the CoffeeB wasteless coffee system can already be purchased in Switzerland and France. In the spring of 2023, the company plans to enter the market in Germany. However, Migros is not going to stop there. Representatives of the company are already declaring great interest in development from more distant markets. And given the potential for fairly large savings in aluminum and plastic against the backdrop of an increasingly growing environmental movement, we dare to assume that Migros will not lack sales.
