A label is something that attracts our attention to a product, that carries maximum information about it, with a minimum of space, which serves to recognize the product and brand. How much effort designers put into developing a successful label. And now the Baralan company is opening new opportunities for them.

The Italian cosmetics packaging company has teamed up with Stratasys, a leader in 3D printing, and ICA, an innovator in the glass and plastic inks sector, to bring to market a new technology that promises a breakthrough in the presentation of cosmetics brands. This is 3D printing directly on glass or plastic of the primary packaging. It looks very impressive, there are practically no limits to the flight of fancy, and it fits perfectly into the policy of inclusive packaging.

Developed exclusively for Baralan's packaging solutions by ICA, the water-based "GP3DPRINT" ink creates 3D graphics using Stratasys Polyjet photopolymer inkjet technology designed for multi-material inkjet printing. We dare to assume that when such printing is applied to plastic, we obtain packaging that is completely recyclable, without additional effort to separate the label.

Yes, while this technology may not seem very economical. Yes, it is currently only available for cosmetic products. But a start has been made. And it seems to us that global brands will not pass by such an unusual way to emphasize their originality.
