Prehistory.

A couple of years ago, a client contacted OMELA with a request to help him develop, supply and set up a packaging line for Doypack bags. The client received a grant from USAID and wants to launch a new production of instant soups in doy-pack bags. The product is indicated as a mixture of boiled vegetables and meat, but it is not the finished mixture that needs to be packaged, but the indicated weight of each ingredient. The product is quite difficult to package due to its properties - sticky, different fraction weights, etc. But still, OMELA decided to take on such responsibility.

Work done.

We began to design and develop this packaging line together with our partners and its further coordination with the client. We decided that there would be two multi-head weighers (1 – vibrating, 2 – screw), two large loading conveyors, a working platform (to support the feeders and their maintenance) and under them there would be a rotary packaging machine into a doy-pack bag.

In order to adjust to the financial size of the grant, we decided that the dispensers and conveyors would be produced by our Chinese partners, and the machine would be produced by our partners from Ukraine. Based on this, OMELA engineers had the task of linking Chinese and Ukrainian machines to ensure a smooth packaging process.

As a result, we got the following line diagram:

That is, vegetables will be packaged on a vibrating multihead weigher, and meat on a screw multihead weigher. The dispensers will simultaneously drop doses into one common mixture and at this moment the packaging machine will open and seal the bag.

The production process of the line began, at this stage the client repeatedly made changes to the design, movement of steps, etc. Of course, we took into account all his wishes. But they changed the design not only in a way that was convenient for him, but also in such a way that these changes did not affect the packaging as a whole. Also, at the client’s request, OMELA took upon itself the task of carrying out all the necessary communications (air, food, etc.).

When the line arrived at the client’s territory, OMELA engineers came to collect and connect all communications:
