"Smart" dosing cap
We are all used to dispensing caps that seal a wide variety of products. They all work on the principle of "one press equals one roughly accurate dose." It is convenient and familiar. But what if a single dose isn't enough for a specific moment?
For example, how much ketchup does it take to make the perfect hot dog or a serving of fries? And let's keep in mind that everyone has different tastes. It seems like, well, what's the big deal? You can press the bottle a few times and get multiple doses. But you can make it more interesting and present your innovation as a cool marketing solution. That's what HEINZ did. They released a new ketchup lid that can be set to three different dose sizes. They called them "like," "love," and "crazy love." Depending on the "love level" you set on the lid, you get a certain amount of product with one press.
The company distributes these lids in the US and UK; they were released in a limited edition and are available for sale on their website. But after reading the news, we thought a lid with this mechanism would be suitable for other products as well, where it's more convenient to get different doses of a product with a single press rather than multiple presses. For example, it would be nice to see such lids on bottles of body creams or balms, massage oils, sunscreen, or even mayonnaise. Some might find it unnecessary, but we think it would be very convenient.
