Reusable capsule for coffee machines
Coffee capsules designed for Nespresso-style machines are currently causing quite a few problems for their manufacturers, primarily due to the challenges involved in recycling them. It's not that they can't be recycled, but firstly, the process itself is very complex and labor-intensive, and secondly, organizing the collection of these capsules is even more challenging. Although there are already some successful initiatives in this area.
This is why the solution developed by the French company Caps'Me looks very promising. For some time now, the company has been producing reusable capsules compatible with Nespresso Original, Nescafé Dolce Gusto, and Senseo coffee machines. And if you immediately imagined half the table covered in coffee, then no. The capsule filling process is automated and very simple. The coffee is poured into a special machine, from which it is then transferred into the capsule. The capsule is then sealed with a paper sticker and inserted into the coffee machine.
According to the manufacturer, a single capsule lasts for over 1,000 uses and can reduce waste by a factor of eight. The cost of a cup of coffee is reduced by approximately half compared to the single-use capsule format. You are also free to fill the capsule with any coffee of your choice.
The new capsules are already successfully sold in France, and the company plans to expand their distribution throughout Europe. To this end, they plan to open at least one representative office in each country and are actively seeking partners.
